Will this program cost me any money?
Not in the beginning stages of the program. Later, we anticipate each participant bringing one food item from home to supplement the recipe. The meats should always be provided by the program.
How often will we cook?
That will be determined by the number of people registered. It could be once a week or once a month.
How many will be cooking at one time?
The kitchen can accomodate up to 4 cooks at a time (two at each stove).
How will the groups be determined?
That decision will be made between you and the kitchen staff. Most reasonable requests will be honoured.
What if I cannot make my scheduled time?
Let the kitchen know as soon as you can. Try not to leave the others wondering if you are going to show up or not. Perhaps another participant would be able to get a cooking session at that time.
What times of the day are we scheduled to cook?
Cooking hours should be from 10:00am-4:00pm. There may be 2 cooking sessions on some days, involving 2 different groups and on ather days we may be able to fit only one session with one group. It will depend onthe recipe.
Will we be changing groups from time to time?
Yes, in order to develop new friendships, this will be encouraged.
Does the program offer any child care services?
Unfortunately, our building is not equipped to provide this, so for safety reasons we are not permitted to provide this service.
When will we get a chance to voice our concerns?
We encourage you to speak freely anytime. If you need privacy, discretely ask one of the staff to give you that opportunity. However, from time to time we may sit around the table and raise concerns or bounce ideas around.
How will we bring our food portions home?
You will borrow containers from the program that have been purchased for this purpose. On your return, you will be expected to bring another food portion home.
