What is Brighter Futures?
A non-profit organization formed in 1995 comprised of parents, family oriented professionals and community members.
Brighter Futures provides families with children aged 0-6 years with enrichment, support, and stimulation in a relaxed and nurturing environment.
It's aim is to promote the health and well-being of children by supporting and strengthening families.
Programs Offered:

Toy and Book Lending Library: parents and children can borrow from a large selection of quality, educational and age appropriate toys, books, magazines and games. Catalogues are available.
Parent Information Sessions: provides parents with opportunities to gather information and new skills. Parents gather with professionals and other guest speakers.
Parenting Programs: are designed to help parents develop positive parenting skills and a greater understanding of child development. Facilitated by trained individuals who offer programs like: How to talk so Kids will Listen, Nobody's Perfect & Growing into Literate Community.
Small Wonders Program: children ages 0-2 years old can explore thier world while interacting with their parent(s).
Offers a non-threatening, safe, play environment with age appropriate toys and activities.
Little Chefs: A six session cooking program for children 3-6 years old. Teaches the basics of cooking simple and healthy foods. Preschool: A school readiness program for children aged 4-5 years.
Healthy Baby Club: Provides support and information to pregnant moms to help them improve nutrition and lifestyle during pregnancy. The club offers such things as Food Supplements, Prenatal Information Sessions, Support, Resource Library, Baby Clothes, Follow-up Activities after birth. Tranportation can be provided when needed.
Baby & Me: For parents with infants to babies of six months old. An opportunity for socialization and sharing of information presented in an informal, interactive manner.
Adult Resource Library: Offers a collection of books, pamphlets, magazines, and videos/DVD's that are available to parents and caregivers. Items can be borrowed at anytime.
Basic Shelf: A 6 week program that teaches parents how to cook nutritional meals at a low cost using a list of 36 ingredients. The group prepares and samples meals (includes a free cookbook)
Clothing Exchange Program: Donated clothing and small household items are made available free of charge to people who need them
